Here at the Facial Rejuvenation Center we offer many medical grade esthetic treatments. One of the medical treatments we offer is a 7% TCA/2% Salicylic Acid chemical peel. This is a medium-depth peel that produces better results than an AHA (alpha-hydroxy acid) peel. The treatment improves overall skin tone and texture and is also excellent for skin and comedonal acne. Below are some frequently asked questions and answers about the TCA Peel.

What areas can be treated?

The face, neck and chest can be treated.

How does it work?

The peel takes about 30-45 minutes. The solution is applied to the forehead, cheeks, chin and nose and it is left to dry on the face for 5 minutes. This step is repeated until the esthetician achieves frosting on the face.  Frosting is the whitening of the dead skin cells. Some clients frost after 1 application while others need more applications, however only 3 layers may be applied. 

Will the TCA Peel hurt?

In between applications a fan is used to cool the skin if the client is feeling hot. After the peel cold towels are used to cool the skin completely, which is also very relaxing after a chemical peel.

What are the steps to take after the peel?

After the peel your skin may be a little red but it quickly disappears. In the next couple days your skin will be very tight and firm, followed by peeling for the next 3-4 days. It is recommended that the client schedule a HydraFacial 10 days after receiving the peel to exfoliate all of the remaining dead skin. It will also help to rehydrate the  fresh new skin and infuse it with antioxidants and hyaluronic acid giving the client amazing results!
